Equine Somatics ~ fall 2025
The Herd
Devoted to many kinds of work — from graceful riding partners to powerful draft companions — this herd gathers in a new rhythm of service. Within Untethered, they are not here to carry weight, but to hold space for stillness, reflection, and healing through connection.
Horses live deeply attuned to their environment and to one another. In their presence, our bodies begin to settle — heart rate and breathing slow, muscles release, and the nervous system finds regulation. Simply walking beside or standing near a horse can invite grounding, reduce stress hormones, and increase feelings of calm and safety.
Their natural awareness mirrors what we carry inside: tension, ease, curiosity, or calm. Through quiet observation and interaction, clients often notice how their own body responds — learning to recognize subtle shifts, re-establish balance, and build somatic awareness.
Ranging from the smallest pony to the largest draft, the herd offers a living field of co-regulation and trust. Here, healing begins not through doing, but through being — in rhythm with the breath, the earth, and the steady heart of another living being.
